Lost Planet 2 also allows you to play in competitive multiplayer modes, with a maximum of 16 players. You can engage in single-player battle spanning six episodes, or join a co-op group of four players that team up to fight against the swarming Akrid. During gameplay, you are able to select from an assortment of customizable weapons, such as sniper rifles, laser guns, rocket launchers, or machine guns. Gaming action is seen through a third-person perspective, as you engage the Akrid while on foot, or from an expansive collection of Vital Suits.
The Akrid, gigantic, insect-like creatures, have also adapted to the changes. This installment finds the world that was formerly frozen transformed into arid deserts and tropical jungles. "Lost Planet 2" for PS3 is set 10 years after the tumultuous events from the original game of the series.
